Abstract
Parts of the body that are common used for face detection is eyes and mouth. The recognition will be more difficult if the size of the sample data and training data not in same size. In this research, the system developed using the adaptive Freeman Chain Code algorithm and adaptive Consecutive Changing Characters algorithm. The recognition based on image pattern that extracted using both algorithm. The problem is can the both algorithm recognizing eyes and mouth. Data that used for testing called input data. Pattern of data input will compare with data training in different size and different angle. The result of experiment show that using adaptive Freeman Chain Code algorithm and adaptive Consecutive Changing Characters algorithm, the percentage of success rate is 60% for eyes and 75% for mouth. Keyword: face detection, freeman chain code, consecutive changing character, eyes detection, mouth detection
