Abstract
This study aims to determine the impact of seff-fficacy on black belt karate self-defense behavior in adulthood, with self-determined motivation as an intervening variable. This study uses sel.f-fficacy as an independent variable, self-defense behavior as a rlependent variable and self-determined motivation as an intervening variable. The population taken in this studlt is the halder af the black belt af Shotokan karate of adult age from the Slntokan karate collegeidojo of Inkado, Lemkari, Inkanas and Kandagaprana. Samples were taken randomly as many as 60 black belt karatekafrom the four Shotoknn karate colleges as mentioned above. I)ata collection methods using questionnaires and scales. Data analltsis using SEM-PLS (structural Equation Model' Partial Least Square) using WarpPLS 3.0 software. SEM-PLS works fficienrly wi(h a small sample size (35-50) and cctmplex models. The results showed that self-fficacy had a signi/icant and significant ffict on adult karate sel/-6r.72rte belzavior, done by calculating the path coefficient af self-fficay against self-clefense behavior, which yielded 0.a6 fu <.0.01). Se$-fficacy has a significant and significant ffict on selfdetermined motivation by calculating the self-fficacy path cofficient on seffdetermined rnotivation which yields 0.52 (p <0.01). Self-determined motivation influences but is not significant to adult-age karate self-defense befuwior by calculating the se$-determined motivation path coe.fficient to self-defense behavior, which fliv-es a result of 0.25 (p - 0.14). SeY:flstermined motivation does not provide a mediating fficr on the ffict of setf-e/ficacy with adult-age karate self-defense behavior. Kelwords: sef'-fficacy, self-determined rnotivation, adult belt karate self-defense behavior
