Abstract
Alam Sehat Pharmacy is one of the pharmacies located in Central Semarang area. Despite having a less strategic location, Alam Sehat pharmacy could continue to survive for 16 years. However, the pharmacy’s gross revenues over the past one and half year tend to decrease. This study aimed to formulate competitive strategies for Alam Sehat Pharmacy Semarang. The research data was obtained through in-depth interview with pharmacy manager, purchasing head, head of operations, and three employees of the pharmacy. The study was conducted by analyzing the external and internal environment of Alam Sehat Pharmacy, IE matrix analysis, and making QSPM matrix. The results showed that the right competitive strategy used by Alam Sehat Pharmacy was market development strategy. Promotion through social media and nameplate installation needed to be done by Alam Sehat Pharmacy in order to be better known by the public. In addition, a computerized system was also required for the supply of goods and improvement of service quality of Alam Sehat Pharmacy.
