Abstract
This study analyzes antecedent of job selection preferences at public accounting firm (KAP) from university students in Semarang based on Theory of Planned Behavior. This study is a replication from Omar et al. (2015) which analyzes antecedent of job selection preferences from university students in three Malaysian private universities in Kuala Lumpur. Omar et al. (2015) recommended that future research should increase the sample size to wider population in order to generalize the result. The respondents are university accounting students in Semarang accredited A based on BAN-PT, include: Sultan Agung Islamic University, Soegijapranata Catholic University, Dian Nuswantoro University, Stikubank University and Diponegoro University. Data analysis technique is multiple linear regression. The results are starting salary, KAP reputation and working environment have a positive effect to job selection preferences at public accounting firm (KAP) from university accounting students. The recommendation for KAP is KAP should provide better starting salary, should maintain KAP good reputation and should create condusive working environment that enables the auditor to work well for more interested university students working in KAP.
