Abstract
This study aims to determine the perceptions of students of Communication Studies Unika Soegijapranata interested in the journalist profession. The research method used in this study is qualitative research, with the order of the exploratory analysis sought to describe as much as possible the opinion of students on the professional interests of journalists. The study population was male / female in the Catholic University Soegijapranata active student status from the Communication Studies Program in the survey are defined as individuals who are interested in the profession of journalists through the choice of study field of Communication Studies. The sampling technique used in this study is simple random sampling through in-depth interview. From interviews can be known about students' perceptions of interest as a journalist and the factors that lead to high or low interest student Communication Science Program Unika Soegijapranata.
