Abstract

Indonesia has diverse wealth, which one of them is a very high biodiversity. These biodiversities are kept in a form of conservation, that divided into preservation and sanctuary according to the kinds and territory. One of the sanctuary that being the subject of this final project is Sempu Island Nature Reserve. Sempu Island Nature Reserve has high diversity of flora and fauna, also unique and beautiful nature consists of various ecosystem. Though it has a nature reserve status which people are banned to visit except for research and education, society‟s interest to travel in Sempu Island is so high. \ As a solution for keeping the nature safe, but people still can have a tour in Sempu Island without brings any damage to the nature, a plan and program were made by dividing Sempu Island status into two; which are Nature Reserve and Nature Park, where people can have a tour in a certain location inside Sempu Island, with ecotourism basic. The plan is supported by the making of Pulau Sempu‟s new identity through place branding based on the research with qualitative method, so the message could be delivered and received by the societies.
