Abstract

A control strategy for shunt active power filter to improve power quality with unbalanced ac source is proposed in this paper. By using abcab transformation, distorted load currents and positive sequence input voltages are transformed into two axes coordinates to obtain instantaneous real power. Based on dc component of instantaneous real power, active source currents references will be calculated. These currents are sinusoidal whose each phases shifted 120o. Compensating currents are determined by subtracting the source references from load currents. Compensation of harmonics, reactive power and unbalance are well done by active power filter with the proposed strategy . Simulation is given to complete analysis.
