Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan perilaku konsumtif terhadap kosmetik wajah pada mahasiswi ditinjau dari konsep diri dan konformitas. Hipotesis yang diajukan adalah hipotesis mayor, yaitu ada hubungan antara konsep diri dan konformitas dengan perilaku konsumtif terhadap kosmetik wajah pada mahasiswi. Hipotesis minor pertama ada hubungan negatif antara konsep diri dengan perilaku konsumtif terhadap kosmetik wajah pada mahasiswi. Semakin positif konsep diri maka semakin rendah perilaku konsumtif mahasisiwi dan begitu juga sebaliknya. Hipotesis minor kedua yaitu ada hubungan positif antara konformitas dengan perilaku konsumtif terhadap kosmetik wajah pada mahasiswi. Semakin tinggi konformitas maka semakin tinggi perilaku konsumtif mahasisiwi dan begitu juga sebaliknya. Subyek penelitian berjumlah 60 mahasiswi di Universitas Katolik Soegijapranata Semarang, diambil dengan menggunakan teknik incidental sampling.
