Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari hubungan antara konsep diri dengan kecemasan pada penderita Diabetes Mellitus. Hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan negatif antara konsep diri dengan kecemasan pada penderita Diabetes Mellitus. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah skala konsep diri dan skala kecemasan pada penderita Diabetes Mellitus. Konsep diri diukur berdasarkan tiga aspek yaitu: aspek psikis, fisik, dan sosial. Kecemasan pada penderita Diabetes Mellitus diukur berdasarkan dua aspek yaitu: aspek psikologis dan fisiologis. Subyek berjumlah 60 orang yang merupakan penderita Diabetes Mellitus yang berusia di atas 20 tahun. Pengambilan data menggunakan metode snowball sampling. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik korelasi product moment. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan rxy sebesar -0,676 dengan p = 0,000 (p<0,01) sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan negatif yang sangat signifikan antara konsep diri dengan kecemasan pada penderita Diabetes Mellitus, dimana sumbangan efektif yang diberikan konsep diri terhadap kecemasan pada penderita Diabetes Mellitus adalah sebesar 45,7%.
