Abstract

Attempted rape is part of the sexual violence problem related to gender-based violence. The act of sexual violence, especially attempted rape, has become a serious topic and has been put in as one of the themes of literary works, and one of the examples is in the Webtoon. This research aims to find the psychological impacts of attempted rape on Grace, the main character, in the Webtoon titled Left-Hand. The researcher used qualitative research as a method to analyze the psychological impacts of attempted rape faced by the main character in this Webtoon. The theory used was the theory of Suprakash Chaudhury. The final results of this research are that the psychological impacts of attempted rape experienced by Grace are trauma and PTSD in the forms of emotional outbursts, avoidance behavior, flashbacks, emotional numbness, suppressing behavior, hallucinations, depressive disorder; and traumarelated sleep disturbance. Left Hand teaches and informs every person in society that the act of sexual violence especially attempted rape, can cause psychological impacts on the victims. The examples of the impacts are various, with the worst impact being the victims show symptoms of depression and are suicidal.
