Abstract

The use of Javanese language to interact in Semarang neighboring community is common. They tend to use Javanese in daily communication. Sometimes there were swear words in the conversation. Swear words are used to express feeling. The feeling is usually expressed by using swear words to show admiration, anger, disappointment and even surprise. Swear words become a common thing, if spoken by adult although they are impolite and inappropriate to be heard or spoken. However, it becomes uncommon thing and strange, if swear words are spoken by children. Society in kp. Jagalan tengah, kel. Gabahan usual use swear words in their daily conversation. Children can spell swear words fluently and clearly into their conversation. Swear words on children are usually aimed to peers, family members even adult or their parents. Meanwhile adult usually swear to their children, things or other adult. This study is conducted to find the reasons behind this phenomenon. The data of this research was taken from some conversation among children and their parents who use swear words in daily communication. The conversation was recorded then transcribed and classified into some parts. Then they were analyzed based on theory. The result of the research shows that in daily informal conversation children and parents use swear words with different reasons. In this research the writer found some situations which trigger them use to swear words. In addition, the parent influence children to use swear words, because parents use swear words in any situation and every where with some reasons.
