Abstract
Perusahaan keluarga jarang menjalankan manajemen risiko secara formal, terkhusus jika dipimpin oleh seorang dengan kepercayaan diri tinggi yang cenderung meremehkan risiko. Penelitian ini menulusuri praktik manajemen risiko di perusahaan keluarga dengan pemimpin yang terlau percaya diri. Studi dilakukan dengan menggunakan studi kasus kualitatif di CV. ABC, yang merupakan perusahaan retail alat berat di Semarang. Peneliti menemukan bahw bahwa perusahaan tidak menjalankan manajemen risiko secara formal dan pemimpin jarang terlibat dalam operasionalnya. Namun, kesadaran staf keluarga memiliki peran besar dalam jalannya manajemen risiko di perusahaan. Temuan ini menjadi wawasan mengenai pentingnya formalisasi manajemen risiko di perusahaan keluarga. Family firms rarely implement formal risk management, especially when led by an overconfident leader who tends to underestimate risks. This research explores risk management practices in such firms. The study was conducted through a qualitative case study at CV ABC, a heavy equipment retail company in Semarang. The findings show that the company does not practice formal risk management, and the leader is rarely involved in operations. However, the awareness of family staff plays a significant role in managing risks within the company. This emphasizes the importance of formalizing risk management in family businesses.
