Abstract

This chapter contains articles on the development of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in Indonesia started with the enactment of Act No. 30 of 1999 on Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution (the Arbitration Act). Before the enactment of the Act, dispute resolution was commonly done only in court through the litigation process. The purpose of this chapter is to describe how ADR has developed in Indonesia since the enactment of the Arbitration Act. In addition, this chapter also describes the regulation and various kinds of alternative dispute resolution.
