Abstract

In the new era of educational development, students are required to be more active in learning independently. This makes students demotivated which ultimately affects learning achievement. Meanwhile, one of the indicators of the achievement of learning objectives is the learning achievement achieved by students. Students develop high self-efficacy when they can complete learning tasks, which is supported by teacher competence in teaching as one of the roles in increasing student motivation. Learners who have high learning motivation will obtain appropriate learning outcomes. The purpose of this article is to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and teacher competence in teaching with learning motivation in high school students. This study used a literature review by selecting related articles using the keywords: self-efficacy, teacher competence in teaching and learning motivation. Literature was searched through several online platforms. The literature reviewed revealed evidence of the impact of self-efficacy and teacher competence in teaching can affect student learning motivation. This suggests that there is a relationship between self-efficacy and teacher competence in teaching to increase learning motivation in order to achieve successful learning achievement in high school students. This study suggests that improving self-efficacy and teacher competence in teaching is an important role in helping to increase learning motivation to improve high learning achievement. The solution provided, for students to be active learners in learning and for teachers to use more appropriate and diverse learning strategies.
