Abstract

Background: Tuberculosis (TB) is still one of the top global health problems. Indonesia is the third country with the highest TB cases in the world after India and China. The prevalence of pregnant women with TB is comparable to the general population. It can be assumed that TB treatment in pregnant women is important. This study aimed to describe the implementation of “SEMARBETUL” system for health system strengthening on TB treatment in pregnant women. Subjects and Method: This study used secondary data obtained from drug- susceptible TB (DS TB) records at Semarang Health City, in 2020 to 2022. A sample of 3,915 patients with DS TB were selected for this study. The data were described on frequency (n) and percentage (%). Results: Average age of pregnant women with DS TB was 28 years. As many as 11 (50%) pregnant women were housewives, 15 (68.2%) lived in Semarang, 12 (54.5%) treated at Hospital, 18 (81.8%) not referral, 15 (68.2%) had diagnosed with bacteriological TB and 18 (81.2%) had pulmonary TB. As many as 12 (54.5%) had normal blood glucose level, and 15 (68.5%) not infected with HIV. Majority (21 pregnant women, 95.5%) received category 1 of anti TB drugs, 21 (95.5%) got TB drugs from the TB program in health facility, and 8 (36.4%) currently undergoing treatment for TB. Conclusion: Majority of pregnant women with TB receive category 1 of anti TB drugs from the TB program in health facility, and they are undergoing treatment for TB.
