Abstract
Abstract. Kampung Sruni is a part of Jaraksari Village designated as a socio-cultural tourism area based on the Wonosobo Regency’s spatial plan. The socio-cultural potential of Kampung Sruni is inhibited by the urbanisation process causing Kampung Sruni’s classification as a slum and densely populated settlement at present. This study examines the dynamics of socio-cultural activities in the dimensions of space and time, as well as its correlation to the economic purpose in responding to the challenges of urbanisation. This paper systematically investigates the socio-cultural activities by conducting a literature review of documents and interviews with local inhabitants and key-persons. The study shows that several socio-cultural activities are highly potential to support Kampung Sruni’s economy. Keywords: socio-cultural, time-space, urbanisation, economic base
