Abstract

Sport has a very important meaning for humans. This happens because exercise is one of the basic needs in daily life. One of them is a branch of basketball, where the sport trains physical, respiratory and also our minds so we can put the ball into the basketball hoop and pass through opponents who have been guarding around our basketball hoop area. Currently basketball is becoming a hot topic of conversation in Indonesia and abroad after gaining achievements for his victory in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) event. The State of Indonesia itself has scored some of its best athletes in basketball sports with several achievements in prestigious events such as the FIBA 3x3 Basketball championship, and also 5x5 SEAGAMES for basketball. It is a pride for the country of Indonesia to be able to send its best athletes at Asian and even world championships. The high interest of Indonesian people towards basketball since national basketball events are often held nationally and internationally is especially in the City of Salatiga, where the sport is one of the sports that is admired by several communities in Salatiga City from young to old age. Salatiga City is one of the participants participating in the Indonesian Basketball Leauge (IBL) routine by cooperating with the Satya Wacana Salatiga club and other regional events, by cooperating with some of the best players from junior high (junior high school) to high school (high school) in Salatiga City. But until now the title still cannot be won due to undirected coaching especially for athletes who are still sitting on the school bench, training ground which is still moving - moving, changing coaches even there are some schools that do not have permanent trainers due to constraints from resources people who are not qualified and also in terms of school funds that are not budgeted. Therefore there needs to be an improvement in the formation of basketball athletes who can get qualified facilities from an early age. Because the fundamental formation needs to be sharpened from an early age. The development of basketball in Salatiga City certainly requires maximum facilities both in terms of equipment, in terms of space to support routine activities, and also the existing human resources so that there is no change of coaches even to the absence of a coach that causes others who do not have licenses as a basketball coach intervene so as to facilitate basketball training activities a basketball training center is needed such as a basketball academy in Salatiga City where there is no basketball academy.
