Abstract

People who live in the globalization era are generally technologically literate. One of the technology’s results is a computer. It cannot be denied that computer plays an important role in everyone’s lives, including students. Students use a computer as an instrument to help them in doing assignments, programming and playing games. Therefore, it appeared a build-up PC or one where people can building-up their PCs with various brands. Besides, because various brands appeared in the market, it brings up a different perception on each person towards build-up PC. So to find out the perceptions of IT students towards build-up PC in Semarang, the writer used a quantitative methods for this study. The instruments used in this study are close-ended questionnaire. The respondents of this study were students from the Faculty of Computer Unika Sogijapranata University. This study shows that a build-up PC can be another option for people besides a branded computer.
