Abstract

Nowadays digital information is becoming a need for many people in society especially adult. Medium of information like brochure, billboard, and newspaper have been left by most people. The presence of online service providers make it easy for people to do a lot of things. Besides offering a product in the form of goods, nowadays, the growth of service is also increasing rapidly. One of the examples is English Language. English Language is one of many languages that are learnt by many people. The purpose of this study is to find out the strengths, weaknesses, threats, and opportunities in offering English Language service trough digital system, which is website. The data were obtained from 40 students of Faculty of Language and Arts batch 2015 – 2016 in Soegijapranata Catholic University Semarang. For gathering the data, the researcher used close-ended and open-ended questionnaire with five choices that is arranged based on Likert Scale method, and also supported by oral-statement from the students of Faculty of Language and Arts in random. The analytical method that was used for this study is the combination of quantitative and qualitative method and being processed by using statistical descriptive analysis. The results of the study showed that the website is ready and qualified to publish and promote English services. Strenghts of this website is able to provides the English services well, and qualified to be a business website, Weaknesses this website is not appropriate with smartphone and gadget usage, also there is no upload file menu. This website of course has Opportunities to add another English website and increase the number of visitors, last we have Threats there are many department in Semarang which provide the English services and there is no IT Support in Faculty of Language and Arts who be able to maintenance the website.
