Abstract

Communication useed on internet technology has prevailed in Indonesia. This techology has also penetrated the education field as means of learning and information delivering (communication) between educater and student. Vocation High School Pangudi Luhur Tarcisius (SMK PL Tarcisius) is one the school in Semarang providing wifi facilities for internet use in the teaching and learning process. This study analytical description of the use of the internet in teaching and learning activities at Tarcisius Semarang Vocation High School. The lessons observed in this study were vocation subjects, social sciences, entrepreneurship and computer information management skills. This study used qualitative methods with descriptive analytical specifications, it described and explained the circumstances and dynamics of the teaching-learning process used internet facilities. The data collections techniqued was carried out by observising sit-in 5 classes, beside interviews 5 teachers and 10 students another tehnique was documentation studies. The results of the study showed that the use of the internet helped the teaching-learning process and motivated students to be more active in seacrhing data and information. Schools provided specific regulations on the use of smartphone so student do not abuse it. The internet use in the classroom was sported by discussion, experimentation, group learning, discovery, and active learning, Keywords : internet, learning communication, discovery method, active learning method
