Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between internet addiction and learning motivation in 8th grade students at Banjarbaru 1 State Junior High School. The hypothesis in this study is that there is a negative relationship between internet addiction and learning motivation in students. The research subjects were 8th grade students at Banjarbaru 1 State Junior High School. The number of samples in this study were 100 students taken from 4 classes 8. The research method was cluster random sampling. Measuring instrument used is Learning Motivation Scale and Internet Addiction Scale. The research data was analyzed with Spearman Analysis Technique and obtained rho = - 0,515 with a significance of 0,000 (p <0,01). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is a negative relationship between internet addiction and learning motivation in 8th grade students Banjarbaru 1 State Junior High School which means the hypothesis is accepted.
