Abstract

THE DESIGN OF VISUAL INFORMATION MEDIA OF CITY TRANSPORTATION FOR THE COMMUNITY OF SEMARANG People nowadays need easy and fast accessible information. One of them is information about public transportation of city transportation (aka. angkot) to ease mobilization of the community. Not everyone in Semarang understand how to reach their destination by public transportation of angkot. In addition, the obstacles experienced by the community is not everyone has a smart phone, so the design comes up to this visual information media, so that people can get information on the spot to ease mobility. Theres information of angkot routes, as well as signage and wayfinding where they have to get off to change route and when to say stop to the driver. Theres is also a design of bus stops to place information on fares,major places in Semarang through certain angkot departments, useful hand-held fan merchandises within angkot that also serve as maps of angkot routes, as well as the tagline “wis.. NGANGKOT wae..!” to attract passengers. Keywords : Public Transportation, Semarang City, Visual Information Media.
