Abstract

In the digital image, there are many different ways of image processing. And one of the i J1: ~reSI one that is Edges Detection. Is tool in image processing particularly in the areas of feature detcction and feature extraction, which aim at identifying points in a digital image at which the illlage brightness changes sharply. Edges detections are generaJly used to separate object with background, so that more objects can be easier to process. In the Edges detections, there are several e,lsting methods, namely Sobel, Canny, Prewitt, Roberts, and Frei-Chen. Operator Sobel is based on convolving the image with a small, separable, and integer valued tilter in horizontal and vertical direction and is therefore relatively inexpensive in term of I.;' lmputations. The gradient approximation that it produces is relatively crude, in particular for hight r'equcncy variations in the image.
