Abstract

Existing marketing strategy in modern era shows that customers perspective and language is one of the important factors to create a good relationship with customers. A good relationship with customers in international market can be created by having a good communication in English. Yet some companies find it difficult because they have to understand customers’ perspective towards the language which is used in their communication. The purpose of this study is to discover Setkah’s customers’ perspective towards the use of English in Setkah’s website. The writer decided to ask the potential customers that are categorized in target market of the business, which is youngsters age 19 – 30 from Indonesia and other countries who able to communicate in English. To collect the data, the writer used a close-ended questionnaire with five choices arranged based on the Likert Scale method. The analysis method used in this study is quantitative method using a simple descriptive statistic analysis. The result of this study showed that customers’ perspective towards the use of English in Setkah’s website is positive with the suggestion that the result of this study may be good to be considered as an advice to anyone who own a company by considering using English to communicate with customers, especially for those who want to sell their products internationally.
