Abstract

This is a study of parents‟ attitude toward their children achievement in a bilingual school. This study is conducted to find out what motivate parents to choose bilingual program schools for their children and to investigate how parents feel about their children's educational and linguistic achievements. The study was a quantitative study using-questionnaire to collect data from 50 parents of elementary school students. The descriptive statistic was used to get the means. The result shows that 14 items filled in by 15 respondents have favorable attitude with the means above 3.3. It means that they believe that by sending their children to immersion program, some benefits can be gained. However, one item shows that the respondents have unfavorable attitude because the sentence was negative. The qualitative data taken from the interview with five respondents highlighted some points which support the idea that English language is important and can prepare for the bright future
